Well, I know I haven't posted all winter, but I wasn't sure anyone was paying attention...Boy was I wrong!

THE DOCKS ARE IN!!!
Generally the docks go in early April and out sometime in October.
Don't forget our May Meeting is Saturday, the 29th at the usual spot by the basketball hoop at 9:30am. We'll have coffee and BRAND NEW Pennwood Directories with all the changes we've been gathering for a year! The next phase of updating begins immediately to include getting everyone's email address and emergency phone contact. So when you get your directory, check it twice at the meeting, and get changes to me ASAP after the meeting. Thanks!
Delaware Highlands Conservancy is holding its 3rd Annual "Foods of Delaware Highlands Dinner on April 24th at Settlers Inn starting at 6:30pm. Cost is $125/person *includes a $75 charitable constribution to the DHC, Call 570.226.3164 for more info.

Lake Wallenpaupack Dam Tours
Friday, July 9th, 1pm-6pm; Saturday July 10th, 10am-3pm.
Participate in a guided tour of PPL's renewable energy plant and get a great view of the lake and the dry riverbed where the Wallenpaupack Creek once flowed.
Wear closed toe shoes. Tours will run continuously. Meet at the butterfly garden next to the dam. A PPL escort will guide you out to the dam in small groups. Registration is not required.

Hey did you know that the concrete used for the dam in 1926 was supplied by Church Street Hardware in downtown Hawley? Hmmm.
PPL Lake Office Summer Hours: The office will now be offering Saturday hours by appointment on the following dates 5/8, 6/12, 7/24, 8/21. Call 1-877-PPL-LAKE to make an appointment.
Now available: Handicapped-accessible fishing pier in Mangan Cove. There is also h-a parking and a sloped path to make it easier to access the pier.
Free Safe Boating Class available May 22 9am-4pm at the Wallenpaupack Evironmental Learning Center. Those who successfully complete the course will receive a boating safety education certificate, which is required for all operators of personal watercraft and those born after 1/1/82, who operate motorboats of >25 horsepower. And finally, PennWood Wine Tasting We will be hosting the first wine tasting gathering at the POINT soon! Participants will be asked to bring a favorite bottle of wine and a snack to share. The goal is to share, educate, & enjoy wine! More details at the May Meeting.
